Looking for a way to help ‘AINA IS?
There are many items and services our partners, members, and community supporters can provide that will really help the ‘AINA In Schools Program while minimizing our program expenses.
Please contact us if you’d like to help.
General Needs/Services:
- Discounts on copying, binding, publishing, lamination (for newsletters, cookbooks, lesson plans, etc.)
- Donations of 8.5 x 11” paper
- Children’s books on gardening, farming, and nutrition
- Volunteer mahalo gifts (certificates, groceries, etc.)
Vermicomposting Supplies:
- We need worms! If you have a worm bin and would like to donate some of your worms, we’d welcome them into our schools. Purchasing them is quite expensive and we’ll need a lot to start composting cafeteria waste!
- Large bins (like can-o-worms); even homemade ones will help
- Vermicompost for our school gardens
Garden Supplies:
- Compost, mulch
- Organic fertilizers
- Seeds (vegetables, herbs, etc.)
- Sweet potato cuttings
Nutrition Education Supplies:
- Napkins, bio-degradable ware
- Food donations/discounts for nutrition lesson samples
- Gift cards to grocery stores
Farm Field Trips:
- We’re looking for farms to host our schools for field trips. If you work with a farm and would like to invite a school for a tour, please contact us.
