2008 Keiki Kokua Festival

Students from 13 schools on three Hawaiian islands attended the 2008 Keiki Kokua Festival.

An enthusiastic emcee, Aunty Nele, welcomed the kids to a show that was planned just for them.

Students got to see a slideshow featuring photos of all the 2008 KEAP projects in action.

School groups also had the chance to view each other’s display boards, which shared details of their projects.

The musical line-up included the Lava Jam Band, Mason Jennings, Paula Fuga, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, and Jack Johnson.

The founders of the Kokua Hawai’i Foundation, Jack and Kim Johnson, presented each KEAP group with a certificate of merit recognizing their work.

Everyone took home a reusable shopping bag, a reusable water bottle and healthy treats provided by participating sponsors including:  SIGG, Kashi, FruitaBu and Hawaiian Electric Company.

Once again we say mahalo to all who participated in KEAP 2008!
