2021 Plastic Free Hawaiʻi School Mural Art Show Winner

April 29, 2021

Congratulations to Kahaluʻu Elementary, the winner of the 2021 Plastic Free Hawaiʻi School Mural Contest! Kahaluʻu Elementary will receive a water refill station as well as a presentation and gifts from Upcycle Hawaiʻi! We had so much fun at the School Mural Art Show at the Kōkua General Store with all the faculty and students who came to view their murals and engage in meaningful conversations. Artivist Ethan Estess of Counter Current Art was also present, and impressed with all the hard work accomplished by each and every school mural participant, stating: “To me this is what real education looks like - I’m confident these students will remember their mural projects and the important messages of Unity for the rest of their lives.”

A big congratulations to all the students who participated!
