Kōkua Hawaii Foundation is thrilled to collaborate with Maui School Garden Network (MSGN), Grow Some Good, and Lihikai Elementary School in providing engaging, hands-on ʻĀINA In Schools Curriculum Training for Educators on Maui. Below you will find detailed information and instructions pre-visit. Let us know immediately if you have any questions or concerns. 

Location: Lihikai Elementary School Library (map) 335 S Papa Ave, Kahului, HI 96732. Parking available in the school parking lot.
Date/Time: Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
Registration Fee of $50.00/participant: MSGN has received a generous donation of scholarships for the first 20 teachers who register. To be eligible for the scholarship, carefully follow the directions below:
  1. Submit your $50 registration fee by check to hold your spot. Make checks payable to Grow Some Good and send to [insert address] OR coordinate pick up of payment with Lehn Huff at [email protected].
  2. Upon completion of the one-day training, you will receive your $50 payment back in cash along with a certificate of completion.
Detailed schedule for the day:

9:30 am Check-in at Lihikai Elementary School
9:45 am Welcome, Introductions, Kokua Hawaiʻi Foundation & ʻĀINA in Schools 
10:15 am ʻĀINA In Schools Curriculum Overview & Close to the Source Snacks
12:15 pm Lunch (We will be preparing snack-size portions of ʻĀINA In Schools recipes and MSGN will prepare a big salad. Please bring a small lunch and/or snacks to supplement.)
1:00 pm ʻĀINA In Schools Lesson Breakouts & Activities
3:30 pm Pau

Make sure to bring: Reusable water bottle, writing utensil/note-taking materials, and your enthusiasm for hands-on learning about Garden, Nutrition, and Composting Education!
