Kōkua Hawai‘i Foundation will be on Kauaʻi to deliver an engaging, hands-on training for educators planning to use ʻĀINA In Schools lessons with their students. This workshop will cover the first four lessons in a series of eight standards-based garden, compost, and nutrition lessons for grades K-6 which include: K (Butterfly Garden), 1 (Little Seeds, Big Plants), 2 (Nutrition Lessons), 3 (Compost Lessons), 4 (Hawaiian Garden), 5 (Scientific Garden), 6 (Nutrition Lessons). All garden, compost, and nutrition units can be adapted for use with other grade levels. The workshop will also include an overview of Kōkua Hawai‘i Foundation’s many helpful resources for educators. Registration includes handouts; thumb drive with digital copies of lesson plans, visual aids, and resource guides; nutrition food guide poster; lunch; and tours of school gardens.
