The Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation Field Trip Grant Program helps bring students to outdoor sites where they can experience hands-on learning about Hawaiʻi's environment. Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation offers financial assistance to Hawaiʻi public schools which otherwise could not afford to participate in environmental field trips. Most field trip locations provide hands-on learning experiences for students grades K-12 and offer educational tours that can be customized to any grade level.

Hanauma Bay

Honolulu, Oʻahu

The Hanauma Bay Education Program is dedicated to serving school and community groups visiting Hanauma Bay on field trips. Members of the education team are eager to share about Hanauma’s ecology and conservation during the group orientation. Lessons can include an introduction to the marine life, geology of the Hawaiian Islands, Hawaiian traditions of marine conservation and a service component. School visits can be customized to include specific information according to the group’s learning interests. Lessons that address learning standards for local public schools are designed around Hanauma Bay’s natural environment. Hanauma Bay is a compelling setting to achieve learning goals. Students have the opportunity to learn important concepts in a fun, hands-on learning environment. To book your field trip, contact [email protected] or (808) 397-5840.
