Farm Field Trips

Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation Field Trip Grants help bring students to outdoor sites where they can experience hands-on learning about Hawai’i’s environment. Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation offers financial assistance to Hawai’i public schools which otherwise could not afford to participate in environmental field trips. Most field trip locations provide hands-on learning experiences for students grades K-12 and offer educational tours that can be customized to any grade level.

Keiki and Plow

Hawaiʻi Kai, Oʻahu
Grade Level Served: PreK - Grade 8

Keiki and Plow is a family run, organic farm in Hawaii Kai that offers a hands-on farm experience. Come play in the dirt, harvest your own produce, and enjoy reconnecting with the ʻĀina. As a working farm tailored to youth, Keiki and Plow offers a fun and unique experience that reinforces the concepts you are teaching in the classroom. Field trips start at $250 for up to 25 students and $5.00 per student thereafter. This field trip site is well suited for the youngest explorers toddling about and beyond.

During your excursion you will be lead a walking tour of the 4 acre property and learn about organic practices such as soil conservation and integrated pest management (i.e. digging in dirt and looking for bugs!) The tour also includes animal interaction with friendly chickens, bunnies and goats as well as free play in the keiki zone.

Tours are run Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11. Contact owner, Heather Mohr to book your field trip at 808-208-2740 or email [email protected]
