ʻĀINA Reaches Molokaʻi & Hawaiʻi Island Educators
October 19, 2018
Over the past month, the ʻĀINA in Schools team has been supporting Farm to School education all over Oʻahu and beyond! Our team shared the ʻĀINA In Schools Garden/Compost and Nutrition curricula with twenty-five educators who attended recent trainings on Hawaiʻi Island at Waimea Middle School and on Molokaʻi at Kilohana Elementary. We send a big mahalo to Sustʻāinable Molokai and FoodCorps Hawaiʻi for inviting us to their mokupuni and helping to distribute Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation resources. Highlights included making ʻĀINA lesson snacks to add to our lunches and a hands-on introduction to composting with bokashi. Check out these links if you’d like to try out a new healthy snack or make fermented compost with your friends and family!
