Aloha ʻĀina Recycling Drive

The final Aloha ʻAina Recycling Drive of the 2012-13 school year ended with a bang at Mililani Uka Elementary School on May 4th. Over 25 volunteers came out to help collect recyclable items from the community. They collected:

  • 30 gallons of cooking oil
  • 1,000 lbs of metal
  • 2,024 lbs of Hi-5 bottles/cans and cardboard
  • 3,075 lbs of batteries
  • 3,750 lbs of paper
  • 4,852 lbs of eWaste

As a bonus, everyone who participated in the drive received a Mililani Uka “Every Day is Earth Day” reusable grocery tote!
