Kōkua Learning Farm provides an outdoor classroom for Hawaiʻi’s educators and a space to deep dive into ʻĀINA In Schools curriculum!! This past month Mānoa College of Education’s STEM^2 Program and Haleʻiwa Elementary teachers joined us on the farm.
The Mānoa College of Education’s STEM^2 Program Visit: The day started out in Mokulēʻia with a Plastic Free Hawaiʻi beach cleanup and conversations around plastic pollution. The group then rotated through breakouts at the Kōkua Learning Farm conducting farm work, a farm tour, and lessons on bokashi composting from the ‘ĀINA In Schools Curriculum.
Haleʻiwa Elementary School Faculty Visit: Haleʻiwa Elementary teachers and staff learned about the vision for our new home, seeded trays in the nursery, and transplanted starts in the ‘ĀINA In Schools demonstration plots. Mahalo to our neighborhood school staff for their excitement and enthusiasm for garden-based learning!
