Green Grants for Schools
August 26, 2019
Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation has updated our Green Grants for Schools and Green Fundraising Ideas for Schools Resource Guides for the new school year. The Green Grants for Schools Resource Guide includes KHF’s Field Trip Grants and Project Grants, as well as several others that support school gardens and environmental education. Here are a couple:
Fruit Tree 101: The School Fruit Tree Orchard Planting Grant
Fruit Tree 101 is a grant program of the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation that brings orchards to schoolyards so students can improve the quality of the air and water while growing tasty snacks for decades to come. Not only do the schoolyard fruit orchards help the environment, but they give teachers an excuse to hold class outside when it’s time for science lessons! Annie’s Grant for Edible School Gardens
Want a school garden? Annie’s believes that showing future generations how sustainable food is grown can change their lives. Connecting kids to school gardens helps them to start thinking more holistically about their food, their community, and the planet. Applications are due Nov. 1, 2019. Learn more and apply here.
