We thank our many members, volunteers, and friends who continue to support Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation’s programs. Head over to our 2018-19 Mid-Year Report to see how our programs have reached Hawaiʻi’s keiki and communities so far this school year. Highlights include:

 

  • 120 Nutrition Docents leading 472 ʻĀINA In Schools nutrition lessons, reaching 2,532 students, while 16 teachers and 253 garden and compost docents delivered 980 ʻĀINA In Schools garden and compost lessons to 5,427 students.

  • 3Rs School Recycling program hosting 8 Aloha ʻĀina Recycling Drives this semester wherenearly 80,000 pounds of metals, electronics, beverage containers, paper, batteries, household items, and oil were collected and diverted from the waste stream.

  • KHF Field Trip Grants supported 2,064 students from 14 schools visiting local farms as part of Farm to School Month.

  • 4,492 students from 46 schools participating in environmental projects supported by KHF Mini-Grants.

  • Plastic Free Hawaiʻi Water Refill Stations were offered at 14 events helping to reduce the use of 65,400 single-use plastic water bottles.
