We thank our many members, volunteers, and friends who continue to support Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation’s programs. Head over to our 2019-20 Mid-Year Report to see how our programs have reached Hawaiʻi’s keiki and communities so far this school year. Highlights include:

  • 144 Nutrition Docents and 11 teachers leading 436 ʻĀINA In Schools nutrition lessons, reaching 2,536 students, while 10 teachers and 271 garden and compost docents delivered 976 ʻĀINA In Schools garden and compost lessons to 5,409 students. 
  • 3Rs School Recycling program hosting 7 Aloha ʻĀina Recycling Drives this semester where nearly 80,000 pounds of metals, electronics, beverage containers, paper, batteries, household items, and oil were collected and diverted from the waste stream.
  • KHF Field Trip Grants supported 5,214 students from 68 schools visiting local farms as part of Farm to School Month.
  • 3,052 students from 25 schools participating in environmental projects supported by KHF Project Grants
  • Plastic Free Hawaiʻi Educational Presentations were made to 2,300 Oʻahu students.

To help sustain and grow this important work, we invite you to become a Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation Member or volunteer at our Plastic Free Hawaii Beach Cleanups and our new KHF Haleiwa Property Community Workdays on the first Saturdays of the month (more info below). You can also shop our Plastic Free Hawaiʻi Pop-Up on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 11:00am-2:00pm at 66-249 Kamehameha Hwy in Haleʻiwa or our online store for lots of goodies. Mahalo!
