May 28, 2020
The application period for Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation's Project Grants and Field Trip Grants for the 2020-2021 school year is now open so plan ahead!
KHF Project Grants
Teachers from Hawaiʻi public schools can apply for Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation Project Grants to help advance their environmental education goals. Previous grantees have used KHF funds for garden supplies, eco-footprint workshops, vermicompost trainings, and more. Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation Project Grants assist Hawaiʻi school teachers in paying for supplies and trainings for their classroom environmental education initiatives of up to $200 per teacher, or $1,000 per school.
KHF Field Trip Grants
Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation Field Trip Grants help bring students to outdoor sites where they can experience hands-on learning about Hawaiʻi’s environment. Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation offers financial assistance to Hawaiʻi schools which otherwise could not afford to participate in environmental field trips. Most field trip locations provide hands-on learning experiences for students grades K-12 and offer educational tours that can be customized to any grade level. Should field trips not be able to take place in the fall, awarded grant funds can be utilized in the spring. We will work with teachers to be as flexible as possible to ensure students have access to outdoor field trip experiences.
