Kōkua Learning Farm Workdays

March 01, 2023

We had our first rained out workday of the year, canceling our February Community Workday. We apologize to all those who had registered and hope you are able to make it to another Community Workday in the future. Heavy rains, however, did not stop the North Shore Dance Academy Dance Team from painting signs for our Agroforestry Orchard. Their work was in partnership with Tribenni, a fundraising platform that connects fundraising needs to non-profit organizations. Mahalo ladies for all your help!

We also welcomed the WSL PURE ʻohana to the farm to plant ʻaʻaliʻi and ‘akiʻaki in the constructed native wetland zones. It was a special day talking about the connections between our ʻāina and kai. Check out the video WSL PURE created for the workday! Mahalo to WSL PURE who recently awarded Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation a grant for native plants and our future in-vessel compost unit for the farm.

We wrapped up February by weeding and preparing the agroforestry orchard for planting with team members from Revolusun. Mahalo to all of our volunteers for your support. We love seeing our farm and community grow!

Interested in volunteering at the Kōkua Learning Farm? Register for our next Community Workday on Saturday, March 4 here or email [email protected] to schedule a private workday.
