“Unbroken Ground” Film Screenings With Patagonia Provisions

August 18, 2016

ʻĀINA In Schools was proud to partner with Patagonia Provisions on the Hawaiʻi debut of the film “Unbroken Ground” with two standing room only screenings at Patagonia Haleʻiwa and Patagonia Honolulu at the end of July. “Unbroken Ground” explores four areas of agriculture that aim to change our relationship to the land and oceans. Director Chris Malloy was on hand at both screenings and engaged the audiences in a post-film Q & A. ʻĀINA In Schools Educational Specialist Summer Maunakea contributed to the conversation by bringing an ʻāina-based perspective to how food can and should be a part of the solution to the environmental crisis – grown, harvested, and produced in ways that restore our land, water, and wildlife. Chefs Ed Kenney & Dave Caldiero of provided locally sourced food, with one dish which included Patagonia Provisions Wild Pink Salmon, which was featured in the film.
